Help a Shredder in need!

This friday, November 14th, there will be a fundraiser for Big Sky snowboard instructor Paulie Overby.  In September Paulie walked a friend home from the bar in Bozeman. After leaving the door he noticed three guys trying to steal his friend's moped.  During the ensuing confrontation one of them attacked him from behind, kicking him in the head repeatedly once he was on the ground.  Every bone in Paulie's face was broken, along with a number of his teeth.  Police were on the scene in minutes and had to administer CPR. They said that he had about 10 minutes to live if he had been alone.  Paul was flown to Billings, Montana by helicopter and stabilized.  He's had two surgeries involving wiring his jaw shut, placing eight plates in his face and lower jaw and three in each eye socket.  Amazingly he's recovering quite well.  After a long stay in Billings due to the amount of head trauma he sustained (he doesn't remember the week after his attack), Paulie's back in Bozeman.    His sense of humor is also recovering. When asked how he felt, he said "better than when I cut the tip of my finger off the day before" (Paul works in construction).  What a week!  Paul has amassed approximately $2 million dollars in hospital bills and will be out of work for another 3-4 months.  This Friday's event is the "Pillage in the Village" at the Black Bear Bar and Grill in Big Sky.  There will be a bbq (6-8pm), three ski and snowboard films (7-10pm), a raffle and a band at the event(10pm-Close).  Tickets for the event are $15 (bbq is an additional $9). All of it going towards Paulie's hospital bills.

There is also an account set up for Paul at Big Sky Western Bank (FBO: Paul Overby, PO Box 818 Bozeman MT 59771 406.587.2922) for monetary donations.  I'm still in shock that something like this happened in my home town, just for doing the right thing.  You can read more about Paulie at the following links:
